It’s state budget week. Labor will be out talking a big game, but don’t fall for the spin.
Labor does not know how to manage money and they have lost control of the state budget.
Victoria has the highest debt and highest taxes of any state in Australia.
We’re paying more in tax and getting less services.
Where’s all the money going?
More than $600 million was wasted on the Commonwealth Games.
Executives in the public service are raking in massive salaries, especially ex-Labor MPs.
But the biggest issue is over $15 billion that is missing due to CFMEU corruption on government worksites, yet the government refuses to allow an independent investigation.
Labor have run out of money, so they’re putting even more pressure on your family budget by increasing taxes. They have increased more than 60 taxes since coming to government including the emergency services tax that we’re committed to scrapping.
When I was first elected three years ago I was concerned that the interest bill was $15 million a day. We’ll soon be paying over $28 million in interest every day. That’s more than $1 million every hour.
The extraordinary rate of this increase should alarm you
This is taxpayer money that should be going towards better services in health and education, growing our police force and better transport connections, as well as investing in our emergency services and community infrastructure to support new housing developments.
The state’s response to the summer bushfires has been a disaster, and we urgently need to do more to help those who were affected get back on their feet.
We’re now just 30 weeks away from the next state election and Victoria needs a fresh start.
Only a Nationals and Liberals government will stop the waste, stamp out corruption, and ensure transparency and accountability when managing our state’s finances.
