Australia Day provides an opportunity to reflect on who we are as a nation, where we have come from, and the values we share.
It is also a day to celebrate the contribution of volunteers and community leaders, and the resilience of Australians who support one another in times of need.
This strong community spirit has been especially evident in the incredible support provided to those directly affected by the horrendous fires that have impacted our region.
I thank everyone who has helped in one way or another, and I know that our community will continue to support one another on the long road to recovery.
As we mark Australia Day, it’s important to reflect, connect with community, and look forward to the future with hope and respect for one another.
I wish everyone across Northern Victoria a happy and safe Australia Day.
