New Premier Jacinta Allan faces an uphill battle if she is to lead the change Victoria desperately needs right now.
While I congratulate her on becoming Premier, Jacinta Allan has been involved in so many major debacles, it’s hard to see how she will be able to drive the reset of government that we need.
I’m very concerned that we will just see a carbon copy of what we’ve seen for the last nine years.
She was the key minister behind the scrapped Commonwealth Games and the $30 billion of cost overruns on Victoria’s major projects.
Under their leadership, Victoria’s credit rating has dropped, and we now have the highest debt of any state in Australia – more than New South Wales, Queensland and Tasmania combined.
Regional Victoria has been badly neglected under this government.
We need a government that will govern for all Victorians.
We need to rein in skyrocketing energy bills and fix our crumbling road network.
We need to reduce hospital waiting lists and create some genuine solutions for our housing crisis.
There are serious unanswered questions about mismanagement and poor governance.
There are so many areas where regional Victoria has fallen behind.
We need a totally fresh approach.
