As school holidays begin, The Nationals Member for Northern Victoria Gaelle Broad has urged drivers to take extra care on what’s left of our roads.
“As families set off for their holidays, take care on the roads,” Ms Broad said.
“In some parts of Northern Victoria, the roads are very dangerous and it’s a case of Russian roulette as potholes and crumbing shoulders can catch you by surprise when you’re driving.
“As well as playing I Spy and Car Cricket you can also have fun counting the number of road signs lowering the speed limit!
“After years of neglect, the Labor State Government has dramatically reduced funding for road maintenance when we need it most.”
We need a safe and reliable road network that connects our state, to make it easier for people to live and do business across regional Victoria, and encourage tourism.
There are so many great places to visit in Northern Victoria, including the Mallee, the Goldfields and the High Country. There is something for everyone to enjoy, and the weather forecast looks great.
“Enjoy catching up with family and friends during the school holidays and stay safe,” Ms Broad said.
