The Victorian Parliamentary inquiry into wildlife roadstrike will hold hearings in Bendigo tomorrow, Wednesday August 6.
The Nationals’ Member for Northern Victoria Gaelle Broad said the inquiry would consider the impact of roadstrike on Victorian motorists, including major trauma incidents and motor vehicle damage.
“This is very timely as I am hearing from a lot of people who have been involved in collisions with wildlife on our roads recently,” Ms Broad said.
“The inquiry will look at the current legislation and regulations for monitoring wildlife roadstrike, promoting driver education and raising awareness.
“The work of volunteers and animal rescue organisations will also be considered.
Witnesses from the Macedon Ranges Shire Council, Macedon Ranges Wildlife Network, the Wildlife Rescue and Information Network and RSPCA Victoria will be among those to appear tomorrow.
The hearing will be held at the All Seasons Hotel, 171/183 McIvor Hwy from 10am to approximately 5pm.
It will be open to the public and broadcast live on the Committee’s website.

The inquiry is being conducted by Parliament’s Legislative Council Economy and Infrastructure Committee. It is due to table its report to Parliament by 30 November 2025.
