Nationals Member for Northern Victoria Gaelle Broad has thrown her support behind the towns vying
for the 2023 Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards tonight
Seventeen towns across Victoria are finalists, including seven towns from Northern Victoria –
Bendigo, Echuca, Heathcote, Jamieson, Mildura, Murchison and Woodend.
“These awards showcase some of the great destinations on offer in Northern Victoria,” Ms Broad said.
“We have so many wonderful towns that offer tremendous visitor experiences, and I encourage
everyone to take the time out and enjoy exploring regional Victoria and support local businesses.”
“Northern Victoria offers so many diverse visitor experiences, from the Mallee to the snowfields,
historic streetscapes and stunning lakes and rivers, and amazing food and wine.
“I would like to wish all the finalists the very best of luck,” Ms Broad said.
“All of them would be very worthy winners.”
The annual awards recognise and reward Victorian towns that create an amazing experience for
visitors. They focus on a team effort from local businesses, tourism operators and the local
community.
The awards are run by the Victorian Tourism Industry Council. Members of the public also had the
chance to vote for their favourite town.
The awards will be announced at a function in Sorrento tonight.
The winners have the chance to represent Victoria at the Australian Top Tourism Town Awards later
in the year.
