The Nationals’ Member for Northern Victoria Gaelle Broad is encouraging all volunteers to take part in new research to gauge the state of volunteering in Victoria.
Ms Broad said the study, which is being conducted by Volunteering Victoria, aims to capture trends and challenges in volunteering.
As part of the survey, a special forum will be held at the Bendigo Library on November 25, focusing on faith-based volunteering. It is capped to 15 people.
“Every day volunteers generously donate their time and talents, making a positive contribution to our communities right across northern Victoria,” Ms Broad said.
“Whether it’s delivering emergency services, caring for our environment, fundraising, coaching or administering sport or cultural activities, or providing social support to people in need, our volunteers are truly the heart and soul of community.
“In 2019 the State of Volunteering report told us our hardworking volunteers contributed a staggering $58.1 billion worth of benefits across Victoria.
“This latest research being conducted by Volunteering Victoria will provide an updated understanding of our volunteers and their contribution and be used to drive meaningful change in the industry.”
The Volunteering Victoria research team is hosting in depth qualitative research sessions online and in person for volunteer managers, emergency services volunteers, Volunteering Victoria members, youth volunteers and online volunteers in both regional and metropolitan locations.
